I had a friend ask me, "If you are not learning technique , then how does expressive painting help you as an artist?" Right away, I knew in my bones that beyond analytical , and aesthetic structures there is a place of rediscovering the origins of artistic expression. While painting in a state of flow, I have discovered more about myself and have found new confidence and freedom to hear and express my unique artistic voice. I have learned to place my insecurities and expectations aside, realizing that raw art is a language that connects me to my inner wisdom and passion.
In this environment, we support one another, and encourage authentic expression and learn to quiet our minds and explore what is beneath the words, what is under the judgement and fears, and what your tender courageous heart wants to express on paper on 8 foot tall easels.
What to Expect- Movement, supportive circle, meditation, transitioning to a trance-like and intuitive painting process, ending with celebration for supporting our creative process. All levels are welcome and encouraged. This is your chance to boldly embrace the part of you that longs for your attention.
